Les gares

Très schématiquement, aux origines du réseau, on a construit 2 types de gares. Une grande gare à Bastia, Ajaccio et Corté. Et de petits bâtiments, quasiment tous identiques pour les autres stations.

La gare d'Ajaccio a toujours son aspect d'origine, avec un grand bâtiment perpendiculaire aux voies. Plus divers bâtiments pour le trafic des marchandises et le remisage du matériel roulant.

La gare d'origine de Bastia a été détruite en 1943 par des bombardements. La deuxième gare a été détruite par un attentat en 1976. Un troisième bâtiment moderne (datant de 1981) est aujourd'hui en service. A Bastia, on trouve encore de grandes installations pour le remisage et l'entretien des trains.

Les nouveaux ateliers du réseau ont été inaugurés en 1978 à Casamozza (transférés de Bastia) puis modernisés dans les années 2000.

Les petites gares sont composées d'un petit bâtiment à un étage, avec parfois 2 courtes ailes. Une halle à marchandises est bâtie un peu plus loin. Plus un petit édicule d'aisance séparé des bâtiments.

A Ponte Leccia, le bâtiment est plus grand, plus un vrai buffet. Entre les deux il y avait un bâtiment pour les toilettes, détruit entre 1991 et 1992.

A Corté la gare a le même style que les petites gares, mais est plus large.

Quelques gares sont accompagnées d'un buffet, comme à Casamozza, Ponte Leccia ou Corté (il ne fonctionne pas forcément de nos jours).

Signalons encore que la gare de Casamozza a été détruite pendant la 2e guerre mondiale et reconstruite dans un style différent.

A Biguglia, la gare est récente, en effet on a rectifié la voie pour éviter qu'elle ne coupe 2 fois la route nationale. La gare étant sur l'ancien tracé, elle a été reconstruite.

Depuis 1999, la gare de Calvi a été agrandie par une grande salle moderne.

De très nombreux châteaux d'eau jalonnent encore le réseau.

Enfin, le plan de voie varie beaucoup selon l'importance de la gare. Il y eût d'ailleurs beaucoup de simplifications des voies de gare au fil du temps.

 Stations

Very schematically, at the network origins, were built 2 types of stations.  A large station in Bastia, Ajaccio and Corte.  And small buildings, almost all identical for the other stations.  

The station of Ajaccio has always its origin aspect, with a large building perpendicular to the tracks. And various buildings for the freight traffic, and the putting up of the rolling stock.

 The first station of Bastia was destroyed in 1943 by bombardments.  The second station was destroyed by an attempt in 1976.  A third modern station (built in 1981) is today in service.  In Bastia, one still finds large installations for the putting up and the maintenance of the trains.  

The new workshops of the network were inaugurated in 1978 in Casamozza (transferred from Bastia).  

The small stations are made up of a small 2 floor structure, with sometimes 2 short wings.  A goods shed is built a little further.  And also a very little separate shed for toilets.

At Ponte Leccia, the building is larger, with a real buffet. The building toilet is between buffet and passenger building, it was destroyed between 1991 and 1992.

In Corte the station has the same style that the small stations, but is broader.

Some stations are accompanied by a buffet as in Casamozza, Ponte Leccia or Corté (nowadays some are not yet open).

Still let us announce that the station of Casamozza was destroyed during the 2nd world war and was rebuilt in a different style.

At Biguglia, the station building is recent. The track was modified to suppress 2 level crossings with a main road. The station was on the former line, so it was rebuilt.

Lastly, since 1999, the Calvi station was increased by a large modern room.

Very many water towers still mark out the network.

And track design is very different according to the type of the station. Moreover there was progressively a lot of simplification of track scheme in the stations.
